KAHN | MASON STUDIO IMMERSION PROJECT (SIP) FELLOWSHIP

EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop is pleased to announce the Kahn | Mason Studio Immersion Project Fellowship. The Kahn | Mason SIP Fellowship is named in honor of avid printmakers and educators Emily Mason and Wolf Kahn, with partial funding provided by the Emily Mason | Alice Trumbull Mason Foundation and the Wolf Kahn Foundation.

This intensive fellowship designed to introduce artists from multiple disciplines to printmaking. We invite artists seeking creative exploration through printmaking, regardless of expertise, to apply their creative knowledge and conceptual goals to the print medium. Selected artists are each provided access to a community and professional printmaking workspace, a $2,000 stipend, three printmaking workshops, and assistance from EFA RBPMW staff.

Eligibility is limited to artists living and working in New York State that have no affiliation with any institution as a full or part time student, be in a residency program during the time of the SIP fellowship, nor have received any other fellowship from EFA RBPMW in the past 2 years. Prior printmaking experience is not required and artists working in other media are greatly encouraged to submit to this intense printmaking immersion.

SHIFT: A RESIDENCY FOR ART WORKERS

Since its inception in 2010, SHIFT residency has been providing peer support, mentoring, and studio space for over ninety artists who work in arts organizations in New York (as administrators, educators, accessibility consultants, etc.), to advance the artists’ creative practices in balance with their careers. The SHIFT residency honors these artists’ commitment to the arts community with a supportive and collaborative environment.

Each year six New York-based artists receive a shared studio space, artist honoraria and production fee, career development opportunities, group catalog production, as well as monthly peer critiques and guest studio visits. The residency period starts from January 2025, and ends in July 2025, culminating in a curated group exhibition at EFA Project Space. 

SHIFT has hosted artists working in a range of media, from sound and installation to painting, performance, and social practice. In addition to its role as a support network, SHIFT promotes advocacy for arts workers and seeks to increase equity and representation within the field.

EFA STUDIO PROGRAM: Partnership residencies

EFA Studio Program: Partnerships Residencies offers studio space and career development opportunities to sponsored artists from around the world. Nonprofit organizations, governments and individuals may support artists through a customized partnership with EFA.

International artists may apply directly to the International Partnership program. If accepted, artists have one year to secure the necessary funding and visas to join the EFA community as a short term resident.
